It is coming up to 4 months since my husband and I relocated to Abu Dhabi. We arrived on the 11th of November 2009 and a few short days later my husband started his new job working as a sustainability professional for a construction company. I was keen to get settled in here before I rejoined the workforce and so I set about making our Tourist Club Apartment feel more like a home. After many trips to and from Ikea and Zara Home things were starting to feel more normal. At least inside the walls of our apartment; the world outside still felt as bizarre as ever, and it still does. I wonder if an Australian girl can ever really adjust to the strange world that is Abu Dhabi?

A Strange City
